Triveni Engineering and Industries, a leading sugar producer in Uttar Pradesh has emerged as a top supplier of grain-based ethanol, reports The Hindu Businessline.
“Since July 2022, we have produced over 3.5 crore litres of ethanol after shifting to grain as raw material. Since April 2022, the ethanol produced from B heavy molasses and sugarcane juice amounts to 5 crore litres,” said an official associated with the Milak Narayanpur plant of the Company.
After commissioning the 200-kilo litre per day (KLPD) dual feed ethanol plant in April 2022 at its existing sugar factory at Milak Narayanpur, the company is hopeful of starting production in other units as well in the next two-three months. Triveni Engineering has targetted to raise the capacity to 1,110 KLPD in current fiscal.
As per media reports, out of 4.5 crore litre grain-based ethanol produced by the Triveni, 3.7 crore litre was produced at the Milak Narayanpur plant and the remaining 0.8 litre at the Muzaffarnagar plant.
