Pune, Maharashtra: The Hinjewadi police have arrested two men for allegedly assaulting and looting a truck driver of Rs 23,000. The driver was carrying sugar from Kolhapur to a factory in Manchar on Sunday morning when the incident happened.
According to a news report published in The Times of India, the truck driver, identified as Jagdish Totare (27) of Ambegaon taluka, said when he reached near Wakad Bridge at around 7 am on Sunday, he stopped the truck as the car parked on the road obstructed his way. Two accused stepped out of the car, hit him and robbed Rs 23,000 belonging to him.
Uddhav Khade, assistant inspector associated with Hinjewadi police station said, “The two men were arrested early on Monday. We are verifying whether they have any criminal record.”
