Pune: Two sugar mills in Solapur region have completed cane crushing operations in the ongoing season. As of now, 41 sugar mills are operating in Solapur region. As many as 37 sugar mills are operating in Kolhapur division.
As per the data shared by the sugar commissionerate, till February 15, 2021, total of 185 sugar mills have participated in cane crushing activities. These mills have produced 754.6 lakh quintal sugar by crushing 743.33 lakh tonne sugarcane with the recovery rate of 10.15 per cent.
