U.S. fuel ethanol production rose by 1% for the week ending Feb. 28, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) on March 5. Meanwhile, weekly ending stocks declined by 1%, and exports increased by 7%, reports Ethanol Producer Magazine.
Production averaged 1.093 million barrels per day during the week, an increase of 12,000 barrels per day compared to the previous week’s output of 1.081 million barrels per day. Year-over-year, production was up by 36,000 barrels per day.
Ending stocks of fuel ethanol fell to 27.289 million barrels, marking a decrease of 282,000 barrels from the prior week’s total of 27.571 million barrels. However, stocks remained higher than the same period last year by 1.238 million barrels.
Fuel ethanol exports reached an average of 123,000 barrels per day for the week, an increase of 8,000 barrels per day from the previous week’s 115,000 barrels per day. Compared to the same period last year, exports rose by 11,000 barrels per day. No fuel ethanol imports were recorded for the week ending Feb. 28.
