According to Agricultural Policy and Food Ministry, farmers in Ukraine sugar beets on 220,000 ha, which is 90 per cent of the forecast.
Farmers carried out spring field work with grain and leguminous crops on an area of 6.6 million hectares or 91 per cent of the forecast, according to a report on the ministry’s website.
There are reports that heavy rains in Ukraine might lead to sugar deficit. The representatives of Ukraine sugar believe that the amount of the harvest will be less than expected. This might create a sugar deficit on the Ukrainian markets.
