Lucknow, May 28 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh government, after a 78 days lull due to clamping of election model code of conduct, was on work from Monday, and in a first state agriculture department held a review meeting in the state capital to monitor about the coming Kharif season.
The government admitted that money has been refunded from an account of around 1.5 lakh farmers of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Yojna.
“These money got refunded as there were some technical matching problem. But efforts were on to rectify the issue and very soon the farmers concerned would get the money in their account,” said UP agriculture minister Surya Pratap Sahi here on Monday.
The small and marginal farmers are getting Rs 6000 per year in three installments under the scheme.
The minister reviewed the schemes and gave instructions on the coming Rabi crop season.
” UP has achieved a distinction of providing 1.11 crore farmers facilities of Direct Bank Transfer(DBT) which is 35 per cent of the country,” he told mediapersons here on Monday. He said 86 lakh farmers would be linked with DBT very soon in the state. By June , government will collect all data on the matter.
Talking about the coming Kharif crop season, he said instructions have been issued for storage of seeds and fertilizers in the districts.
” We will launch the fourth phase of the millennium Farmers school in the state when the farmers would be imparted new and advanced techniques of farming,” he said while adding that under the Pradhan mantri fasal Bima scheme, 51 districts of the state have been covered with it and in the rest it would be implemented soon.
