Titron, Uttar Pradesh: Samajwadi Party district unit head Chaudhari Rudrasen has written a letter to the chief minister demanding clearing of the cane dues of sugarcane farmers immediately as they are facing financial burden due to pandemic.
Explaining the problems faced by the farmers he said, “India is an agrarian country and farmers are facing severe challenges due to the coronavirus pandemic. Farmers from Western Uttar Pradesh are unable to meet their daily needs as their financial condition has deteriorated. The sugar mills in Saharanpur district owe arrears around Rs 700 crore and government should take steps to clear the pending dues of the farmers immediately.”
He also urged the CM that the government should waive off the electricity bills of the farmers as it will big them big respite.
