Lucknow: The Yogi Adityanath government aims to generate employment in the state in the sugarcane sector through its constant efforts to double the farmers’ income.
The government has ensured the regular operations of the sugar mills in the state as well as revived the closed sugar mills. UP CM also presented the roadmap for the development of sugar industry and sugarcane production in the state before NITI Aayog also
UP has also achieved the top rank in ethanol production by producing 261.72 crore litres of ethanol through 54 distilleries up to January 2021.
The government has issued licenses to set up 243 new Khandsari units and of these 133 units have started operations.
For the first time in 25 years, licenses were issued for the establishment of as many as 243 new Khandsari units, out of which over 133 units have been operationalised. With a capital investment of about Rs 273 crores in these units, a total of 16,500 people will get employment opportunities.
