Lucknow: The government is planning to set up a sugarcane development fund to help farmers to take up agricultural investment on time, said a government spokesperson, reports The Times of India
The government is committed to the welfare of the sugarcane farmers and taking steps to make cane cultivation profitable, he said.
“The government is giving priority to ensuring that the cost of cane cultivation remains low and it has already cleared the cane dues of the farmers. It is now focussing on increasing the yield per hectare,” he added.
