The sugarcane crushing season will officially begin tomorrow in Lakhimpur Kheri, with the Ajbapur sugar mill in the district set to be the first in Uttar Pradesh to commence operations in the 2024-25 season. Other mills in the district are expected to start operations in November.
According to reports, the timely payment of cane prices has allowed the Ajbapur mill to operate ahead of others. The mill has already issued indent orders, and weighing has begun at sugarcane centers.
District Cane Officer Ved Prakash Singh confirmed that crushing will start at Ajbapur on October 25, making it the first mill in the state to do so this season. Following approval, the mill’s management has completed all necessary preparations.
Meanwhile, the other eight sugar mills in the district are gearing up to commence operations in the first week of November. All mills have finalized their preparations for the upcoming crushing season.
