Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh: The annual general meeting of the Cooperative Sugarcane Development Committee, Baghpat, was held. During the meeting, a proposal for a budget of ₹5.20 crores for the upcoming financial year was approved. Additionally, a proposal to double the capacity of the Cooperative Sugar Mill in Baghpat, benefiting 25,000 farmers, was also passed, and it was decided to send the proposal to the government for approval, reported Amar Ujala.
In the meeting on Tuesday, it was decided to send a proposal for subsidies for drone spraying of pesticides on crops to higher authorities. The committee also passed a proposal to provide subsidies on agricultural equipment, sugarcane seeds, pesticides, and hum pipes to farmers.
The Chairman assured the farmers of the committee’s support in ensuring that sugar mills pay the sugarcane price to farmers.
