Jaunpur: BJP candidate Kripashankar Singh has announced that if he wins the election, his priority will be to establish sugar processing units and industries in his parliamentary constituency to prevent people from having to leave their homes for jobs, as he once did, reported PTI.
He emphasized the importance of having a sugar mill in Jaunpur, pointing out that there are about 900 acres of government land available on the highway in the Shahganj assembly segment that could be used for industrial development.
Singh plans to leverage his extensive contacts in Maharashtra, which has a robust sugar industry, to set up sugar processing units and a sugar mill in Jaunpur. He is committed to utilizing the available land to bring these projects to fruition.
Polling in Jaunpur will take place in the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections on May 25. Singh is competing against Babu Singh Kushwaha of the Samajwadi Party and outgoing MP and Bahujan Samaj Party candidate Shyam Singh Yadav.
