Uttar Pradesh: BKU Bhanu demands govt to fix cane price of Rs 550 per quintal

Mawana: The workers of Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) Bhanu have demanded the government to declare a sugarcane price of Rs 550 per quintal, reported Amar Ujala. The members of the organisation have submitted a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister through SDM Ankit Kumar in this regard.

The memorandum highlighted the worsening financial condition of sugarcane farmers in the state, stating that factories are not making payments on time as per the agreed schedule. Other demands included completing the tank connection work under the Swachh Bharat Jal Jeevan Mission in rural areas, inspecting all private hospitals and pathology labs in the region for compliance with standards, and holding camps in each village to ensure accurate land records for farmers.

Several key leaders of the BKU Bhanu, including Amit Tyagi, Indresh, Nitin Tyagi (district general secretary), Puneet Tyagi (tehsil president), Thakur Rishipal Singh (state general secretary), Shekhar, Pradeep Tyagi, Sardar Gurudayal Singh, Satish Sharma, Mahavir Singh Gurjar, Satish Tyagi, and Ashok, were present on this occasion.
