Lucknow: Well-known for administrative reforms and unique initiatives in the interest of cane farmers of the state Shri Sanjay R. Bhoosreddy, Commissioner Cane and Sugar taking a another unique initiative, by organizing an online Examinations on 07 May 2022 to test the departmental knowledge of the officers of cane department. Shri Ramakant Pande, Managing Director, UP Sugar Mills Association was given responsibility of Controller of Examinations for online departmental examination.
Giving detailed information in this regard, Shri Bhoosreddy said that this exam was conducted to test, whether the orders, circulars, booklets, pamphlets and other useful information and guidelines issued from the headquarters of the cane Development Department are studied thoroughly at the field level or not. It is to be known that many positive decisions were taken by the cane Development Department in the last five years in the interest of farmers, various important schemes were launched. For the successful implementation of these schemes, it is necessary that the officers should have detailed knowledge of all the circulars and guideline so that maximum benefit of sugarcane farmers can be done. He said that the orders, circulars, information, guidelines etc. issued from the headquarters are very detailed, without studying or memorizing them it is not possible to provide correct information to the farmers. In such a situation, the purpose of the examination is not only to test the knowledge of the officers but also to enable them to provide proper information related to the department to the sugarcane farmers.
He informed that this departmental examination was conducted on May 07, 2022 from 04:00 pm to 06:00 pm through online medium. In this examination of 150 questions, provision of 02 marks for each correct question and negative marking (01 mark) for wrong answer were made. A special note will also be marked on the annual performance report of the officers, based on the marks obtained in the examination.231 officers of cane Development Department from all over the state participated in the online competency test. The result of the online departmental examination was declared after 15 minutes of completion of the examination. All the officers of the department performed well in the exam. The overall result of the examination was satisfactory, in which the participating officers scored a maximum of 286 marks against the full 300 marks. Department officials were very enthusiastic about the exam.
It is also noteworthy that such examinations not only increase the knowledge of officers, but also old and new departmental orders, guidelines, circulars are studied by the officers to appear in the examination, due to which, it is convenient for officers to provide better service to the sugarcane farmers and to solve their problems quickly. He also informed that with a view to provide better facilities to the sugarcane farmers and to enhance the departmental knowledge of the officers, such examinations will be organized by the department from time to time.
