Lucknow: The Commissioner, Cane and sugar Shri Sanjay R. Bhoosreddy has issued the Cane survey policy for crushing season 2022-23. He informed that to determine the sugarcane area of sugar mills and supply of sugarcane to the sugar mills by the farmers and for accurate estimation of sugarcane production, correct survey of cane fields is one of the most important and basic functions of the department.
Shri Bhoosreddy has informed that the cane survey work will start from 20th April, 2022 and will end on 20th June 2022. This survey work will be based on metric system. For the purity, transparency of data and quick solution of the problems of Cane farmers, G.P.S. Survey work will be done by Hand Held Computer Device etc. under SMART GANNA KISAN PROJECT.
He also told that this year Cane farmers of the State have been provided the facility of uploading online declaration forms in respect to their sown area through the website www.enquiry.caneup.in. 100% verification of the information mentioned in the declaration will be done at the time of survey.
Survey will be done jointly by Cane Department and Sugar mills staff. For survey purpose, temporary circles of 500 to 1000 hectare area of Cane, Joint team consisting cane supervisor and Society employees along with employer of sugar mill will be deployed for Cane survey. Compulsory training will be given to the survey team.
The commissioner said that only those employees would be deployed in the sugarcane survey team, who has the basic knowledge of the survey. Not only this, a mandatory training of the survey team will also be conducted. It will also be ensured that the circle for which survey work was done by the employee in the last crushing season will not take up the survey work of that same circle in the current crushing season.
It is also notable that to maintain the transparency and purity in Cane survey data, 100% survey will be done through GPS, as G.P.S. survey save the time, the expenditure will also be reduced and the role of middlemen will be eliminated. After taking measurements of plots, the survey slip will be made available to the farmers.
During the Cane Survey the details of sugarcane variety, crop condition, nursery, monsoon Cane sowing/ Cane sowing/summer Cane sowing fields and model plots of drip irrigation, and intercropping as well as details of selected best farmers will also be recorded in each Cane development council. The Progress and quality of Cane survey will be monitored, from time to time, by Concerned District Cane officer and Deputy Commissioners. Surprises inspections will be carried out by head headquarter officers.
New members will also be registered in village level meetings during the survey. The members made till 30th September 2022 will get the facility of Cane supply. Till 30th September, 2022 farmers may submit applications for their yield increase along with prescribed fees to the Cane Super wiser. In view of Covid-19, pandemic the guidelines issued regarding social distancing and sanitization will be followed in training and other programs during survey work.
