Kanpur: U.P. Cooperative Sugar Factories Federation Ltd. has sought assistance from National Sugar Institute, Kanpur for improving the knowledge level of its technical staff working in sugar factories. Discussions in this regard were held between Shri Narendra Mohan, Director, National Sugar Institute, Kanpur; Shri Sanjay Bhoosreddy, Cane and Sugar Commissioner, Additional Chief Secretary, Sugar Industry & Cane Development Department; and Shri Rama Kant Pandey, Managing Director, U.P. Cooperative Sugar Factories Federation Ltd. According to the decision taken during the discussions, National Sugar Institute sent a proposal for conducting short duration training programmes for various categories of technical staff for which in principle approval has been received by the Institute.
Shri Narendra Mohan, Director, National Sugar Institute, Kanpur informed that U.P. Cooperative Sugar Factories Federation is making efforts to improve the productivity of Federation factories, their modernization and setting up of power export and ethanol units. Hence, it is important that the knowledge level of the technical staff is increased and they may be given knowledge about the latest techniques of sugar, power and ethanol production. Besides this their knowledge is to be updated with respect to quality control, automation, chemical control and by-product utilization.
Hence, National Sugar Institute, from 23 June to 1 July, 2022 shall conduct six specially designed training programmes at the Institute in which more than 100 technical personnel of U.P. Cooperative Sugar Factories Federation Ltd. shall participate. Apart from theoretical and practical training, exposure in unit operations shall be provided to the participants at the Experimental Sugar Factory and Ethanol Unit at the Institute. We are confident that this training programme shall help in improving efficiency of sugar factories of the Federation and harnessing the potential of by-products in a better way, said Prof. D. Swain, the Course Coordinator.
