Uttar Pradesh: Farmers demand hike in sugarcane price

Saharanpur: Farmers have demanded the government to fix the sugarcane price at Rs 600 per quintal for the current crushing season, reported Amar Ujala.

As per the news report, members of the Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) Rakshak handed over a memorandum in this regard to Additional Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Yadav.

While submitting the memorandum, BKU Rakshak’s National President, Chaudhary Virendra Singh Ohlan, expressed concern over the farmers’ distress due to unpaid sugarcane dues. He urged immediate payment of the pending sugarcane payments.

Additionally, the memorandum called for the removal of illegal encroachments from ponds, cleaning and beautifying Nagal’s Van Chetna Park, and construction of a new bus stand in Saharanpur. City President Sunil Rana and others shared their thoughts during the meeting.

Rahul Fauji, Gajendra Nousaran, Sunil Shastri, Roopak Chaudhary, and Ajit Saini were present on the occasion.
