Bareilly: Sugarcane farmers under the banner of Bhartiya Kisan Union (apolitical) have demanded the government to hike the SAP for sugarcane to hike to Rs 450 per quintal, reports Live Hindustan.
A delegation of BKU visited the district collectorate on Tuesday and put forward their demand. They said that the government had last year increased cane price by Rs 25 per quintal and this year it should hike the price to Rs 450 per quintal.
They also demanded the government ensure that the sugar mills clear the cane dues in time.
