Uttar Pradesh: Farmers demand increase in sugarcane price

Bulandshahr: The Bhartiya Kisan Mazdoor Union (Singhania) held a meeting at the SCA Memorial Public School in Bulandshahr on Monday. In the meeting, the union’s district president, Sanjay Solanki, called on the state government to increase the sugarcane price, reported Live Hindustan.

“The current support price of sugarcane is not enough to cover the production costs of farmers,” Solanki said. “We demand that price to be increased to at least ₹450 per quintal.”

The union’s regional president, Shubham Agarwal, also spoke at the meeting. He said that if the price is not increased, the union will launch an agitation.

The meeting was attended by other union leaders, including district president Gaurav Dagar, district vice president Amit Tewatia, Amarpal Singh, Mohit Tewatia, Ankit Singhal, and Neeraj Garg.
