Bilaspur, Uttar Pradesh: In a meeting organized by the Bhartiya Kisan Union (Bhanu) on Friday at Sankara village, the issue of renovating the Rudra Bilas Kisan Sugar Mill located in Bilaspur was raised. During the meeting, farmers demanded the renovation of the dilapidated sugar mill, reported Live Hindustan. Addressing the farmers, Organisation’s Senior National Vice President Hanif Warshi said that the deterioration of the sugar mill in Bilaspur is causing great distress among the farmers. As a result, local farmers have reduced sugarcane cultivation, which is leading to the sugar mill incurring losses amounting to crores every year. He emphasized that renovating the sugar mill is essential for the benefit of the local farmers.
Hanif Warshi also announced that a delegation of farmers would soon meet the Minister of State for Agriculture, Baldev Singh Aulakh, to demand the renovation of the sugar mill.
Warshi further highlighted the issue of plywood factories operating illegally around the reserved forest areas in the region, violating Supreme Court orders due to some corrupt officials and employees. He stated that plantation activities have not been carried out in accordance with government standards.
On April 8, the Bhartiya Kisan Union (Bhanu) will organize a large protest at the DFO office, demanding accountability for the damage caused to the reserved forests.
