Uttar Pradesh: Fire breaks out after boiler explosion at ethanol plant

Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh: In a incident in the Bisharatganj police station area of Bareilly, a massive explosion occurred at the ethanol plant located along the Amla-Aliganj road. The explosion took place in the boiler at plant, causing the boiler’s cap to be propelled nearly 500 meters away, resulting in a fire, reported Amar Ujala.

The explosion, which occurred around 11:30 AM, left three workers severely burnt. Two of the injured workers were immediately rushed to a private hospital in the city for treatment. Local residents were startled by the loud explosion and rushed to the site, where they found the factory in a state of panic and chaos. According to reports, the factory’s manager and staff fled the scene following the incident.

Upon hearing of the explosion, fire engines from Amla and Bareilly arrived to control the blaze, which was eventually brought under control. ADM Administration also visited the site to assess the situation. He confirmed that the plant was in its trial phase at the time of the accident, and the explosion occurred during this period.

Authorities have started an investigation into the cause of the explosion, while efforts continue to provide aid to the injured workers.
