Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the state ranks top in sugarcane and wheat production and the government will introduce a new food processing policy to address the issues raised by MSME entrepreneurs, reports Hindustan Times.
Addressing the three-day Agro-MSME expo at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan here, he said, “Uttar Pradesh ranks first in the country in terms of sugarcane, wheat, mango, potato, peas, mushroom, watermelon, milk and honey production. The state with the largest population has 12% of the country’s cultivable land but produces 20% of the country’s foodgrains.”
“Government will consider the interests of enterprises associated with the food processing industry under the new food processing policy,” he added.
