Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav has promised people to provide free sugar, milk, oil and ghee along with ration provided they elect his party to power in the assembly elections.
State Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, the largest sugarcane producing state in the country, are in the final phase with the ruling BJP and opposition SP trying to woo voters.
Also, political parties are leaving no stone unturned to attract sugarcane farmers as they are the major vote banks in the state.
Ahead of the poll, Akhilesh Yadav made various promises to the farmers. He promised the sugarcane farmers that if voted to power his party will ensure cane payment in 15 days.
