Sugarcane plays a vital role in Uttar Pradesh’s agricultural sector, thus consistently drawing focus from the state government. Ensuring prompt payment for sugarcane has been a priority for the government.
According to a report published in The Times of India, Sugarcane development minister Laxmi Narayan Chaudhary said that prompt payment is being ensured to sugarcane farmers.
Sugarcane farmers form a significant part of Uttar Pradesh’s agricultural landscape. The timely disbursement of payments not only supports their livelihoods but also bolsters the state’s agricultural economy.
Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi said that the BJP government in the state is very much committed to doubling the income of farmers since the productivity of various crops, including paddy and millets, has improved by 15 to 30% in the last few years.
