Lucknow: In compliance of the instructions issued by Hon’ble Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and under the guidance of the Hon’ble Minister, Sugar Industry and Cane Development, Suresh Rana, the Cane Development Department is continuously striving to safeguard the interest of the sugarcane farmers, and 100% of cane price payment has been ensured against the due cane price payment of the crushing season 2019-20.
Giving detailed information, in this regard Commissioner cane & sugar Sanjay R. Bhoosreddy, has told that the Department of Sugar Industry and Cane Development is committed to protect the interests of the sugarcane farmers. Sugar mills of the state have paid 100% cane price to farmers against the due Cane price of Rs.35,898.85 crore for the crushing season 2019-20. Along with this around 63% payment has been done against the cane price payable for the crushing season 2020-21. During the tenure of the present Government a record payment of Rs.1,35,111 crore, including payment of previous crushing seasons has been made to the sugarcane farmers of the state till date.
It is also noteworthy that Cane commissioner Shri Bhoosreddy is regularly monitoring the cane price payment and giving instructions to Departmental officers to speed up the cane price payment By pressurizing the sugar mills. Along with this, instructions have also been given to departmental officers to safeguard the cane farmers and departmental employees from the infection of Covid-19.
