Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government plans to commence cane crushing season from October 15. During a meeting with the Bhartiya Kisan Union on Tuesday, state chief minister Yogi Adityanath said that his government is taking all the possible steps in the interest of cane farmers.
According to the news report published in Businessstandard.com, the CM has announced the Western and Eastern UP sugar mills would start crushing operations from October 15 and 25 respectively. He said, “The timely commencement of the crushing season will give farmers enough time for the wheat sowing season. And it will also help to increase their income.”
As per ISMA’s preliminary report, sugar production in Uttar Pradesh in 2020-21 SS is estimated to be around 123.06 lakh tonnes.
