The Uttar Pradesh government is taking several steps to improve the welfare of sugarcane farmers in the state and ensure they face no difficulties.
One key initiative is the Sugarcane Department’s Sugar Distribution Scheme, which is benefiting sugarcane farmers. Under this scheme, 8.15 lakh quintals of sugar have been distributed across Uttar Pradesh so far. More than 6.23 lakh sugarcane farmers have benefitted from the program.
Speaking about sugar production, then according to the National Federation of Cooperative Sugar Factories Ltd (NFCSF) data, until March 31st, 2024, 920.38 lakh tonnes of sugarcane have been crushed to produce 97.10 lakh tonnes of sugar in Uttar Pradesh.
