Uttar Pradesh: Three sugar mills end crushing operations in Muzaffarnagar

Muzaffarnagar: The sugarcane crushing season in Muzaffarnagar is entering its final phase. Crushing operations have already concluded at Khaikheri, Tikaula, and Bhaisana sugar mills. Rohana sugar mill is expected to end season later this week. However, the season at mills are still ongoing.

So far, eight sugar mills in the district have crushed 947 lakh quintals of sugarcane, producing around 96 lakh quintals of sugar. Compared to last year, sugar production is expected to be higher this season. Mills at Khatauli, Titawi, Morna, Mansurpur, and Rohana Kalan are still operating.

Bhaisana recorded the highest sugar recovery rate in the district at 11.11%, reported Amar Ujala

Tikola sugar mill has completed its crushing season and has made 100% payments to farmers. In addition, the Khatauli, Titawi, and Rohana mills are also performing well in terms of farmer payments.

Following the directions of Sugarcane Commissioner, teams have been formed to inspect sugarcane diseases across different regions. DCO Sanjay Shishodia stated that teams will visit fields to gather information on crop diseases, and a report will be sent to Lucknow.

Farmers are being advised not to plant the 0238 sugarcane variety this season, as it has been found to spread disease.
