Uttar Pradesh: Truck loaded with sugar stolen en route; police recover bags in raid

Rampur, Uttar Pradesh: In a surprising turn of events, a truck loaded with sugar worth lakhs of rupees, which departed from Rana Sugar Mill in Kareemganj village, was reported stolen on its way to Kayamganj in Farrukhabad. The truck never reached its destination, sparking a police investigation, reports Amar Ujala.

As per media report sources in the police department said that a raid was conducted in a godown in Guldhera field, Chandausi, by Rampur Police where more than 100 bags of sugar were recovered. Several people have been detained regarding the sugar theft.

The owner of Gagan Brothers, Bareilly, Happy has informed that a truck with sugar on behalf of his company was to reach Farrukhabad. But he never got the truck; after that, he filed a complaint. Now, based on his complaint, a case was registered at Shahabad Kotwali about the truck’s theft. It was directly stated in the complaint that the truck owner and driver of Chandausi in Sambhal district were involved in the sugar theft. The sugar stolen is pegged at lakhs.

As per media report, sources confirm that the investigating Rampur Police recovered nearly 100 sacks of sugar from a godown in Guldhera, Chandausi, and arrested some suspects. No police officer is, however, willing to further comment on the case. A full disclosure by the police is soon expected.
