Roorkee (Uttarakhand): Uttam sugar mill is expected to start its crushing season in late October, according to mill officials, reported Live Hindustan.
Mill officials said that they are making preparations for the crushing season, which includes the construction of new tracks for bogies and trolleys, which is nearing completion. In addition, the repair of machinery has been completed.
Senior Vice President LS Lamba and other officials inspected the sugar mill premises on Friday. They inspected the construction work underway in the yard and the repair of machinery. They said that the mill administration is working to start the crushing season in late October.
Cane manager Anil Singh said that farmers will not have to wait long at the mill once the crushing season begins.
