Uttarakhand: Farmers informed about diseases affecting sugarcane crop

Kashipur, Uttarakhand: A one-day seminar was organised by the Ganna Kisan Sansthan and Training Center in the village of Gularia. Assistant Director Nilesh Kumar of the institute informed that symptoms of a disease called Pokkah Boeng are currently being observed in sugarcane, reported Amar Ujala.

During the seminar held on Tuesday, the Assistant Director explained the methods of identifying the disease and raised awareness among the attendees. He stated that if such symptoms are observed in your fields, they indicate Pokka Boeng disease. For this, farmers can spray a medicine called Carbendazim, which can cure the disease. He also answered questions from farmers regarding their sugarcane crops. On this occasion, scientific officers from the research institute, officials and employees of the sugarcane department, and sugarcane farmers were present.
