Dehradun: The Sanyukt Kisan Morcha staged a protest at the tehsil headquarters due to the non-announcement of a new sugarcane price, reported Amar Ujala.
Farmers criticised the policies of the government, expressing discontent. A memorandum was also sent to the Chief Minister through the tehsil administration.
On Monday, officials and representatives associated with the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha gathered at the tehsil headquarters. Farmers demonstrated with slogans, highlighting various demands.
Mohit Uniyal, the district president of the Congress, mentioned that despite 20 days since the commencement of the sugarcane crushing season, the government has not yet announced a new sugarcane price.
