Kichha, Uttarakhand: The crushing season at the Kichha sugar mill in India’s Uttarakhand state is expected to begin on November 29 or 30, reported Amar Ujala.
According to the mill’s Executive Director, Trilok Singh Martolia, a fire will be lit in the boiler on November 24 to mark the start of the season. He added that both boilers have been modernized this year.
Farmers will receive sugarcane tickets via SMS. Of the total 39 sugarcane purchase centers, two small centers in the Haldwani area will be merged with nearby centers, leaving 37 centers in operation. Electronic scales are being installed at all purchase centers. Farmers will receive weighing tickets at the same location.
