Uttarakhand: One-Day training program for sugarcane farmers held in Kashipur

Kashipur: In a one-day training program organized at the Sugarcane Farmers and Training Institute, Takabari Sheikhwala in Kashipur, cane farmers were educated about new sugarcane cultivation techniques to increase production, reports Amar Ujala. Experts encouraged farmers to adopt scientific methods for sugarcane cultivation.

The programme was inaugurated by BK Chaudhary, Senior Sugarcane Development Inspector of the Iqbalpur Cooperative Sugarcane Development Committee. Addressing the gathering, he shared the details about the sugarcane supply policy issued by the Sugarcane Commissioner and highlighted its benefits for farmers. He stressed the ongoing efforts to provide scientific farming training to farmers at the grassroots level, noting a growing interest among farmers in adopting these methods.

Sujesh Chandra Navani, Special Secretary, spoke with farmers about the benefits of membership in the committee. He said that membership in the committee would provide incentives for various schemes undertaken by the committee. Senior Scientist Vinod Chaudhary gave a long discourse about diseases and pests of sugarcane. Vinod Chaudhary was also made aware farmers of the latest varieties of sugarcane.

Angira Singh CDI spoke to the farmers regarding the benefits of intercropping and the scientific approach towards intercropping.

There were also other development inspectors of sugarcane present on the occasion, which included Dev Jyoti Ramola, Manoj Lamba, Surendra Singh Panwar, Chandrapal, Vinod Kumar, Dev Jyoti, Avinash Singh, Rajiv Kumar, Ramesh Chandra, and Jaypal.
