Kashipur: A review meeting of the Sugarcane Development and Sugar Industry Department was held in the Commissioner’s Conference Hall on Monday, reported Amar Ujala.
The discussion, chaired by Sugarcane Commissioner Chandra Singh Dharmashaktu, assessed the progress of the ongoing winter sugarcane planting, the availability of allocated sugarcane seeds for January, and the lifting operations.
Commissioner directed all assistant sugarcane commissioners to ensure the completion of winter sugarcane planting targets. The meeting also delved into the progress of the sugarcane seed replacement program and reviewed the financial and physical progress of the program within the department.
In addition, after the committee examined the relative sugarcane price payment to sugar mills in the 2023-24 crushing season, Commissioner promptly issued directives for the timely settlement of pending sugarcane price payments to farmers. The meeting also addressed the review of relative sugarcane price payments, sugar production, and the current status of sugarcane arrears.
