Dehradun: Uttarakhand government informed that it has set up a committee to decide the State Advisory Price (SAP) for sugarcane for the ongoing crushing season. The state government is also likely to announce the price within a week.
Replying to the question asked by Congress members in the assembly, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Madan Kaushik said that the government would soon announce the price after the committee submits a report. When the opposition demanded a timeframe for an announcement, he said it would not take more than a week.
“We will make payments to the cane farmers based on SAP and not on FRP declared by the centre. We will also ensure that the increase in the recovery will not affect the cane producers,” he said.
