Mangalore: Uttam Sugar Mill in Rudraksha, Uttarakhand, has paid for sugarcane purchased until December 15 under its weekly payment system. The mill management has appealed to farmers not to sell sugarcane at low prices and to supply it directly to the mill, reported Live Hindustan.
Anil Singh, the mill’s sugarcane manager, said that the mill administration is continuously paying farmers for their sugarcane. He appealed to farmers not to sell their sugarcane at cheap prices to middlemen but to supply it directly to the mill.
Singh said that the mill is committed to buying sugarcane from farmers at fair prices. He said that the mill has paid for sugarcane purchased until December 15 to the committees.
