Surat: After a gap of a decade, Vyara Sugar Mill is set to resume operations on January 26 with the help of the state government, reports DeshGujarat.
Sumul dairy and Mahuva sugar chairman Manish Patel and Surat district bank chairman Naresh B Patel were given the responsibility to resume operations at the Ukai Pradesh Khand Udhyog Sahkari Mandali (Vyara Sugar Mill) by the state government.
Manish Patel was appointed as chairman and Naresh B Patel was appointed as vice chairman of Vyara Sugar Mill by the cooperative department. The chairmen of all the sugar mills of the Surat and Tapi districts have been appointed as executive members.
The new team has demanded a revival package of Rs 50 crore and the government has allotted Rs 30 crore in the budget. The repair and cleaning operations at the mill are going on and the team is expecting that the mill will resume operations on January 26, 2023.
