Water reservoir report as on June 20, 2024

As per the reservoir storage bulletin dated 20-06-2024, water available in the 150 reservoirs across the country is 37.662 BCM, which is 21% of the total live storage capacity of these reservoirs. However, last year the live storage available in these reservoirs for the corresponding period was 46.883 BCM. Hence water availability continues to be less than last year’s corresponding period.

In the Northern region, water availability is 5.488 BCM which is 28% of the total live storage capacity of these reservoirs. The storage during the corresponding period of last year was 39%, indicating a shortfall as is seen in other regions too, barring the East.

In the Eastern region, water available in the reservoirs is 3.873 BCM which is 19% of the total live storage capacity of these reservoirs. The storage during the corresponding period of last year was 18%.

In the Western region, water available in the reservoirs is 7.608 BCM which is 20.49 % of the total live storage capacity of these reservoirs. The storage during the corresponding period of last year was 24% .

In the Central region, total water availability is 25% of the total live storage capacity of these reservoirs. The storage during the corresponding period of last year was 32%.

In the Southern region, water availability is 8.508 BCM which is 16% of the total live storage capacity of these reservoirs. The storage during the corresponding period of last year was 21%.
