Sangli: Whoever comes to power, we will fight for the farmers’ cause and will launch agitations against the government for getting a higher rate for milk and sugarcane, said MP Raju Shetti. He was speaking with reporters in Sangli. His statement sends signal stating that no one should take him for granted while discussing political discourse in future.
Speaking to reporters, he said, “Everyone knows that till now we had launched agitations against Congress and NCP and the experts raised eyebrows when we formed an alliance with them. However, we have succeeded in convincing the people that we are fighting election with millers only to benefit the farmers. People are convinced, and I am sure that they have voted our party. We will win both Hatkanangle and Sangli seats.”
“Shiv Sena leaders tried their best to increase our problems by filing complaints against us. They searched for a candidate having a name similar to my name and filed his nominations. But this trick has not helped the party,” he said.
“Our commitment to farmers will not change after whoever comes to power. We will come on the road and continue to agitate for milk and cane producing farmers. I will continue to agitate for farmers’ cause,” he said.
